Some interesting news out of Nashville yesterday involves the state’s three-year-old TNInvestco initiative, which aims to boost entrepreneurship across the state by offering funding to qualified startups.
A newly released audit shows that there are some areas that need to be addressed by program administrators and there’ll be a General Assembly hearing in Nashville today related to the findings.
Earlier today I spoke to Clint Brewer, Assistant Commissioner of Communications and Creative Services at the state Department of Economic and Community Development, about the report. I’ll check back with him later today after the hearing and offer an update on the audit findings and the ECD response.
Until then, here’s a link to my original story about the audit: http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2012/nov/13/state-audit-uncovers-concerns-about-tninvestco/
