Fred Remmers Rug Cleaners & Oriental Rug Galleryalways had rugs for sale, said owner Mehdi Abesi, but the main focus, until recently, was on cleaning.

Founded in 1881, Remmers moved to its current location at Central and Cooper in 1983. The business was passed down in the Remmers family until three years ago, when Abesi, who had his own Oriental rug business, bought it and combined the two.
